Invite your clients to taste the bold flavours of Szechuan at Shisen Hanten, whose history dates back to 1958 in Yokohama, Japan, where it was started by Japan’s “Father of Szechuan Cuisine”, the late chef Chen Kenmin. His legacy was carried on by his son, celebrity chef Chen Kenichi, who is best known for his time on Iron Chef. Third-generation chef Chen Kentaro, a rising star in Japan’s culinary ranks, takes on the family’s culinary mantle with Shisen Hanten’s Singapore branch. Szechuan cuisine is known to titillate the tongue with numbing spices and animated flavours. Some of the best examples of this would be chef Kentaro’s signature dishes, which include Mapo Doufu and Sauteed Chicken & Chilli Pepper. Having been awarded two stars for the past three years, Shisen Hanten is Singapore’s highest-rated Chinese restaurant in the MICHELIN guide.
